turkey day + friendsgiving.

thursday we ate lunch with mom and dad over at their place. we just picked up cracker barrel take out and of course mom and dad made more sides. because my mother always insists on allthesides. bryant likes to tell people about a time when mom had made supper and was apologizing for not having many sides and there were like 4. it's his favorite story. i made pies.

and since this turkey is on the food now he ate some sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie!

his brothers on the other hand.. not even close.

to be fair, isaac had contracted a stomach bug for a minute. but i'm sure he enjoyed his thanksgiving banana.

after we ate, i drug us all outside for a photo sesh.

look at my cute family and boys of plaid. i finally found matching shirts in all the sizes and had to buy them immediately. matchers are my life.

and my cutesy parents..

this same day, our "engagement pictures" showed up on my timeline on facebook. i use the term engagement pictures lightly. my brother took them with a cheapo digital camera at the park. don't worry, we had professional ones made too.. at the studio in walmart. hahahahahaha.

yep. we've aged. like fiiiiiineeee wine.

i still love that goofy hot man. probably even more than i used to.

gahhhhhhh. could they be any cuter?!

'twas a good day. i'm thankful for my parents. they rock.

on black friday rachel and jon came over and it made my heart so very happy.

forever friends.

and on saturday, we had friendsgiving! growing up i remember always having a few randos around the table at thanksgiving. and while i wouldn't call these folks "randos" (i'd call them "MY PEOPLE") it's still something that i'd love for our kids to experience too. maybe i'll invite some randos next year to spice things up..

i had never made a turkey before, but i did it! and it was easy!

our friends all brought sides and we feasted.

a nod to charlie brown..

because he's a good man.

sometimes i get bummed because my boys aren't going to have any cousins on my side of the family. and we don't do family things with bryant's side. and it just kinda stinks because i grew up with cousins and big family meals and it was a whole lot of fun and i always imagined that for my kids. but i've learned (over lots and lots of years and a super special relationship with pap & mamaw) that family is what you make it. and our friends have become our family.

i'm pretty sure the majority of the kids ate.. nothing. they just wanted to play.

wishbone!

lindsey won. and i'm betting i know what her wish was. and i wish that wish too, so get it done lindsey. wink wink nudge nudge.

in case you were thinking of getting a sectional and wanted to know how many they seat.. it's 12 adults and a buncha kids.

i love these people. i really am so thankful for them (and our other friends/framily. yes, you!)..

no, i'm not crying. i just have something in my eye.

  2. Thankful that I've been lucky enough to know you since we were tiny, and that we get to do life together. One day soon, we'll even have the same last name. Oh, and, I'm sure thankful for these awesome fellas who made that possible.
