easter festivities.

we started our easter festivities off thursday night with a seder dinner with our church. they do a great job and it's really cool! add it to your bucket list if you've never gone to one.

friday night we went to our church's good friday service. it was really good too. we kept both boys in service with us because they had a little runny nose and were acting whiny and they both did great. the only time isaac henry spoke out is when the music lulled at one point and he yelled [he probably just used his normal voice but you know how ultrasensitive you are as a parent in a church service or anytime your kid needs to be quiet..], "let it go!" apparently he thought it was time to place requests..

saturday we were gonna go to an easter egg hunt in town but when we got there it was bonkers. so many people and the time slot that was next was full so we were gonna have to wait an hour for the next time slot. no thanks. so we decided to let isaac do his egg hunt from us saturday after his nap.

this is something my mom always did when we were kids, hide all our goodies out in the yard and make us go pick it up. even as teenagers. and i'm so excited that isaac henry is old enough for us to do that for him. my mom was always so good about making holidays extra special.

every egg he found he had to open and tell us what was inside before he could go on to look for more eggs. so cute.

he ended up with a few pieces of candy, a mini chocolate bunny, some quarters, a tow mater car, a little thing of bubbles, and a spider-man tshirt.

we didn't make grant search for his stuff.. i don't think he woulda got too far..

he got some puffs (for later), a few quarters, a baby car, and some bubbles. babies are hard to buy for.

sunday morning we got ready and i wanted to get a picture of the boys because they were matching in the cutest outfits ever and looked so adorable i never wanted to change their clothes ever again.. and i really needed to get it before church because my children have a tendency to poop/pee out of their clothes.

it's almost like they are a baby and a two year old when it comes to taking pictures.

we started inside. it went really well..

[isaac henry is singing jesus loves me to cheer up baby dant.]

since the inside pictures went so well, i decided to take them outside for even more pictures. basically because i'm brilliant!

perfect! everyone look at the ground. no one smile. yep. that's it!

this is how our photo shoot was going, "look and smile! i'll give you a gummy worm! i'll give you a quarter! ISAAC HENRY. I WILL GIVE YOU A SPANKING IF YOU DO NOT LOOK AT THE CAMERA RIGHT NOW. and don't drop your brother. STOP PUSHING YOUR BROTHER. LOOK AT MOMMA." it was all a very happy situation. you know, preserving the memories.

at this point i was not feeling the easter cheer so i gave up, hoping for no costume changes and that we could try again in the afternoon.

and what do ya know?! a easter miracle! both boys were still in their outfits after church was over!

bryant and i served in nursery during church. i hated to miss service because i just love easter sunday, but i love me some babies too.

last year we matched meghan and andy and bryant matched jason this year, so we had to get a picture..

we ran home after church to change clothes before heading over to mom and dad's for lunch. and you know i had a second go at pictures of the boys..

it turns out they are actually sweet and i might not strangle them after all.

yep, it's for sure. they're sweet. i'll forgive them.

hope y'all had a good easter too! it really is my favorite. how awesome that we serve a LIVING God! it's just really cool. Jesus is really cool.

  2. Oh, I totalled giggled through this post. Partly because you're hilarious, and partly because I pretty much threatened corbin within an inch of his life to get a picture Easter morning. Lol! These adorable kiddos just don't appreciate the art of "preserving memories" these days ;)
