lent, and i don't mean the kind between your toes.

well the lenten season starts today. and i've never really been one to give up something or whatever. i am, after all, southern baptist. so it's not a rule or anything. just being free in Christ over here, what what!

but i like the idea of it. step away. spend some time with the Lord. get your ducks in a row. get the crap out of your life. so this is what i'm doing..

1. limiting my facebook usage to once a day for 15 minutes. i need to. i need to be more present with my boys. i need to be more intentional with my friends. and i need to be spending more time in the Word. so facebook is limited for a while. i think it'll be good for me. i initially was going to log out completely, but there is a prayer accountability group that i want to be a part of on the ole facebook, and i think that it will be valuable to me. i'm gonna have my cake, and eat it too.

2. i'm cleaning this house. and when i say cleaning, i mean cleaning. i'm throwing out the junk, or at least boxing it up and moving it to the garage to wait for a yard sale. but i feel like i'm drowning in stuff and it's got to go. if we don't use it, love it, or need it for the future (i'm referring to mostly things like isaac's stuff and maternity clothes) it's gone! i've read this blog a buncha times and i'm psyched up. let's do this!

3. we're doing this daily devotion to prepare our hearts for Easter. it's a family devo. ok, it's a kid devo. it has ornaments that go along with it like the jesse tree at Christmas. but i'm looking forward to reading the scriptures, being in prayer, and remembering Christ's death and resurrection as Easter approaches.

and on a completely unrelated note, happy anniversary to my momma and daddy! 24 years is a long time. and boy, am i happy you're married! first of all, i wouldn't exist without y'all. secondly, i can't tell you how much of a blessing it is to be one of the few people in my age group whose parents are still married. i love that. and i love y'all. thanks for being a picture of what a Christian marriage looks like for me and bry.
