pallet art.

**edited to tell y'all that there is more info on the pallet art here. thanks for all the love!**

like most everyone on the interwebs these days, i'm obsessed with pinterest. there is so much beautiful, yummy, inspiration to be found there but the problemo is that i pin and pin and pin and never do.

i want to do.

i pinned these 3 beauties..

{1}

{2}

{3}

they all have similarities. first of all, they're different boards stuck together with words painted on them. secondly, i love them.
the recent redecoration of our bonus room and the need for cheap decor was just the kick in the pants i needed to actually do instead of just pin.

using my cutesy pins as inspiration, i had my trusty carpenter cut up an old pallet that we took from a trash pile at a neighboring construction sight. and we re-nailed it together. and we debated what phrase/lyric/scripture to paint on it.
and we came up with this little pretty..

that's a lyric from the hymn, come thou fount.

i like it. a lot. and it was free.99 so even better. amen? amen!

and i also feel so accomplished because i actually made something that i pinned! a pat on the back for me.

  18. Hi, Lindsay. I'm new to pinterest and found this wonderful phrase from "Come Thou Fount" on old wood. I'd like to make something like this from old apple crate wood, one for each of my adult children for Christmas. Could/Would you share what size your sign is? I probably won't make it exactly as you have, but it would help to have an idea of its size. Thanks so much.
    Blessings!

  25. I'm stealing your pallet idea b/c that line from Come Thou Fount is exactly how I feel right now, and I need that daily reminder! Mine will look pretty different though, b/c the wood is coming from an old porch, so its got worn paint that's chipping off and nails sticking out/hammered down in other places. Should be interesting.. I love the other examples you gave! Makes me excite to try!

    1. you can find most of your answers here.. http://cokercola.blogspot.com/2011/12/more-on-pallet-art.html

      i attached a wire with nails on the back. i put a nail on each side and wrapped the wire around the nail a buncha times. that's what it's hanging on.
